Children Trafficking Is Wrong
“The Day My God Died” is a documentary film by Tim Robbins, broken hearts, that tells the real suffering of a handful of South Asian girls, it makes the victims of trafficking at the border between India and sold into brothels of Bombay. Recruiters capture them, smugglers transport enslave them, brothel owners, corrupt police, and it benefited financially rape of men and 80% of them infected with HIV. These girls were finally rescued after enduring years of sexual slavery, forced, including rape, beatings, and to be having sex with an excessive number of men each day. Many of these survivors relate to the day were traded into slavery as the first day of their god is dead.
The film tells the story of Gina, into sexual slavery at the age of seven sold, with sticks and rods of aluminum on the first day when they defeated the brothel, where she refused to have sex to pass, and finally by several men raped until they resist, Anita stopped, lured by a friend, then drugged and sold to a brothel at the age of 12, she was beaten and threatened buried alive, Maili, old traffic and 19 years with her two year old daughter which was seized in order Maili of flight and Jyoti, sold at the age of 12, raped, choked and forced to drink alcohol, keep in order to break his resistance. There were several other girls, cigarette burns and beatings, or not want to have sex with clients were damaged. Also, many girls of her rapist, and many pregnancies abortions suffered during their captivity. You have not had time to recover after these abortions, before starting to work it.
The film’s brutality and destruction of these unfortunate girls who were without their willingness, trapped in sexual slavery shows are sold. Jyoti versa, the brothel where she was held after his rescue, to find and rescue the other girl. Jyoti shows the room secret hideout, where brothel owners maintain the girl and said: “. When the door closes behind you, you never know you’re there” Jyoti words, the despair, reflecting that girls face once captured.
On the other hand, the film offers a glimmer of hope in the darkness you consider that work to save a few committed activists, these girls and women in the life of captivity and they are helping rescued sex slaves in the society. There is a growing movement inside and outside the brothels to stop this insidious crime. The film presents some of the heroes of the movement to abolish slavery, child sex tourism, including Gary Haugen of International Justice Mission, Harleen Walia of Sanlaap and Anuradha Koirala, founder of Maiti Nepal.Every one of them risks his life to rescue girls and dismantling of the railway, the enslaved. The film documents an alliance with local officials, shows images of a raid, which uses a secret passage, subject to hide the girl. Seven girls were freed in the raid, and two brothel owners, who may be currently in prison awaiting trial under the first, Mumbai attacker to be sentenced for this crime.
Some of the rescued girls are lucky enough to take shelter in Maiti Nepal, a medical center where they learn skills and participate in arts programs, which find their new ideas. A hospice was created, in which girls can become infected with AIDS to die with dignity. This non-profit centers are underfunded and overwhelmed by the magnitude of child trafficking in the sex industry. But this small group of heroes continue to fight for life. Some of the most courageous advocates are former sex slaves who risk their lives to save other girls.
I must say that this film is really shocking at home. Human trafficking is a reality for me after this documentary. It’s really sad to know that people are so evil and so corrupt. You can sometimes find that you live in the United States and are therefore immune to this kind of corruption. However, the sad story that we must remember that more than one million women and girls sold, transported and forced into sexual slavery each year and 50,000 of these girls come from the United States. The Day My God Died exposes crimes that occur not only distance, but closer than we can imagine.
It’s really depressing to think that some girls were abducted from their homes against their will, transported to a new world in which they have no family, no friends, no helpers. You do not even speak the language, in some cases. You are where you are grateful for their captors, often sexually abuse them and sometimes with beatings and starvation for their cooperation. It is heartbreaking to think of a room, hidden, cramped and dirty, where the auction and sale of human beings takes place. Those who are forced into slavery and slavery, to make their offers, want to be able to make an offer. A man, a child, a daughter, for an agreed amount, usually only a few hundred dollars, you can leave the buyer with his new acquisition. Human trafficking is truly a horrible crime.
It’s a shame to know that human trafficking is a reality for too many children and young adults in the world today and has surpassed drug trafficking in the second-largest illegal trade worldwide.
After having this documentary, I wondered how a person can have the courage to kidnap an innocent girl to engage in human trafficking? I wondered why some people have become so insensitive to the bottom, so that they no moral value of human life, the innocence of a child? Men who pay for sex with children, I wonder what the hell? You know that these girls are children held in sexual slavery. How did they have the courage to have sex with them.
The other sad fact is that men who are HIV positive, believe that sex with a girl or a virgin cures these two girls are in Bombay to a terminal illness or incurable myth is based on this contract. They have been paying the price for their lives as slaves, kept without their will. You pay a double price: slavery and their lives.
Everyone should take it seriously, because this documentary is the story of one of these girls could be the story of a daughter, a niece, the daughter of his best friend, his cousin. This could be history. We live in a world where many people are less sensitive. It is true that God alone is able to bring, lasting change in this world, but at the same time we must do whatever in our ability to the lives of children and especially girls to take safely.
Parents should take steps to ensure their children from, protect victims of child slavery. The first step to protect your children is through education. Parents should discuss the various tactics and warning signals that are used to have their children an awareness of the potential dangers they exposed learn. Children about the possible warning signs will help them make better decisions if they ever face a situation that is potentially dangerous.
We know that only the kingdom of God will be completely removed all the negative things on the earth. But at the same time, let us continue to work to the innocence of children, the dignity of man by fighting to protect so that people stop trading because it is wrong. The story of these young girls into sexual slavery in Bombay can not be forced to continue to repeat itself in India or in any order of the world. Let us all do our part to promote the better and safer world for women and young girls.
